Mission Statement
Central Illinois Association of Health Underwriters was chartered by the National Association of Health Underwriters, incorporated as a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Illinois and formally adopted its bylaws on April 11, 1996. The purposes and objectives of CIAHU are:
- To promote the common business interests of those engaged in the advancement of public knowledge of all segments of the health insurance industry.
- To promote the adoption and application of high standards of ethical conduct in the health insurance industry.
- To provide and promote a program of continuing education and self-improvement of CIAHU members.
- To coordinate with local, state and national Health Underwriters Associations of the United States and to be a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters federation.
- To increase the knowledge of members concerning the principals, functions and applications of the health insurance industry.
- To promote education, legislation, regulation and practices which are in the best interest of the health insurance industry and the insuring public.
- To do such other things and to carry out such other programs so as to further the purposes of the Association.
